Carbon Neutral Cruising

The Summer Voyage, like all Whole Planet Tours and Conference programs, will be as environmentally-conscious as the people who participate in them.

Although modern cruise ships burn fossil fuels for propulsion, we offset the environmental impact by purchasing Carbon Offsets for each member of our group -- to totally negate (“offset”) the net Global Warming effect of the CO2 produced by the diesel engines.

When we purchase those carbon offsets, the funds are used to build new renewable energy projects like wind turbine farms and solar power development. These renewable, clean energy sources feed into the electrical grid, replacing "non-renewable" or "dirty energy."
